Campo Verde Mexican & American Cuisine

History

If you have been wondering, “Campo Verde” means Greenfield.

The founder and owner is James (Smiley) Williams, an ex-ball player, ex-musician, ex-club operator, ex-restaurant & bar manager, wannabe professional golfer, and for the past 36 years probably the only Gringo gourmet Mexican cook, cashier, waiter, bartender, busboy and pot washer anywhere.

Campo Verde is unique from any other Mexican food restaurant.  We have tried to combine what we feel our customers want in dining out with the best food, service and atmosphere.  Thirty years ago, there was only twelve to fifteen Mexican restaurants in Tarrant County.  At present, there are over 300.  This astounding growth tells us that people have become authorities, not only in Mexican food, but in the entire restaurant industry.  Everyone grades or compares one to another.  Campo Verde has tried to be a little different in that not only have we given our customers a clean and friendly atmosphere, the best food, at a reasonable price, but also introduced many new Mexican gourmet dishes which have been well received by our customers

CHRISTMAS AT CAMPO VERDE !  If you haven’t visited us during the season, it is a MUST SEE.  Whether you’re an adult or child you will feel the magic of the season as you visit our fairyland.  Mr. Williams has won many awards and many write ups in local newspapers about his extravaganza holiday display with over 100,000 lights, over 30 trees, and holiday train, with much much more.  The grandkids will delight visiting this fairyland spectacular!  Be sure and visit our  Christmas @ CampoV  picture album.

All of us at Campo Verde would like to extend our appreciation to you for dining with us and hope to see you time and time again.  Visit our  Photo Gallery  often for what's new at CampoV.
